We have combined years of experience and our state-of-the-art technology used for garden centre buildings to assess the wind and snow loadings for our polytunnels in certain parts of the country.
Though a comprehensive set of structural calculations cannot be provided for a polytunnel structure, the map above shows our recommendation for whether you should choose 5ft or 6ft spacings. Note this is only a recommendation, should you need any further assistance please contact us.
All our range now comes with 11/4" (32mm) diameter Z35 structural steel tubing.
All Highland Polytunnels are manufactured using a proven 2 piece hoop as in our commercial range, unlike some of our competitors who have multiple joins making the structure weak.
We offer either 5ft or 6ft hoop spacing's on all our range of structures for extra strength.

We've utilised our commercial aluminum and PVC fixing system for our aluminium door, door frame and base rail.
Thick wall (3.5mm) hot dipped galvanised tubes for longer life and a stronger structure. (some of our competitors supply 1mm)
Tanalith TREATED We are now using 3" (75mm) x 11/2 (40mm) timbers for our door frames, base and side rails and 11/2" (38mm) x 3/4" (19mm) double row fixing battens.
On our door and door frames we are using our new corner fixing plates for extra strength and easier assembly.
Our brackets are the same design as our commercial range which have been developed over the last 40 years with proven strength and durability.
All our range comes with 900mm wide door frame as standard. (Timber or Aluminium)
All our garden and commercial structures have 1mtr straight sides with 6ft working height within 1 ft 6" (457.2mm) at each side.
