Wide Polytunnels
The
30' Polytunnel is the widest standard single span tunnel. It has
a circumferential length over the hoop of 13.4m which is ideal
for using the widest polythene sheet available (14m) fixed to
a base rail. It is necessary to have a base rail with this width
of tunnel as the cover is not wide enough to be buried into the
ground. The straight sides are slightly higher than out other
structures and at 4'2" they are probably the highest on the
market. The steel used is the 60.3mm Z35 pre galvanised tube.
There are additional inner diagonals as introduced on the 27'
model and also an additional strut at each end which supports
the centre of each goal post end frames.The timbers are tanalised
3" x 3" with a H-frame above the doorway of 3"
x 2". The foundation tubes are 1½" nominal bore
hot dipped galvanised tube which allows usual tensioning of the
cover after sheeting.
